I just want to rule the world
The Harbinger of War had been travelling around doing his duties as a Champion. He had taken a pause in the Capital on his way to the stronghold once more, having decided to seek out a library to touch up on some research his friend needed. Of course, the Champion researcher could have just left the stronghold himself to find the research he needed but no, he preferred holing up in his own place there. The man gave off a rather intimidating aura just by what, and who, he was alone.
He sat at a rather crowded table on the third tier of the library, books sprawled open across the surface and some papers displayed before him with words written down on them from precise notes he was taking. A wooden box also sat by the papers, the lid opened to reveal a shimmering blue orb sitting on a velvet cushion to keep it safe. He didn't have to worry about being bothered by anyone as they mostly gave him a wide berth, which he was just fine by because he didn't really want to have to deal with such....lesser people.
At least that is until someone dared approach him after some time. What... In all of the hells imaginable.... Was this? His stormy eyes raised to rest on the person who dared approached him, his facial expression rather unamused as he stared at the man. "What do you want?" He questioned, his voice rumbling and low.

[nospaces] [attr="class","oneword1"] [attr="class","fromyou1"] @ulla you can technically have as many notes here as you want. go crazy. The closer that he gets, the harder it is to go
[attr="class","itsover"]
Messmer pried a violet dyed leather tome from a tall shelf, standing on his tip-toes and letting out a huff of annoyance at the effort. He had not taken a week long airship alone (companion long forgotten somewhere in the hollow marshes of Divos'kajib Ev'frabhi) with the intention of struggling in the massive Ekiv'saji library. It had almost anything he could imagine he might need, and had been a stopping point pre-warped arcane spell work what felt like a lifetime ago. That said, apparently the behemoth of a building lacked the funding to have enough step ladders to make accessing taller shelves more convenient for the less vertically inclined. Messmer had no intention of lugging around one of the heavy, thick step stools himself from isle to isle himself, so he had eventually settled to just grumble quietly at every book just out of comfortable reach.[break][break]
Six hours of that tedious stretch and grab routine had worn him out, however, and he was no closer to his conquest than he had been upon setting foot in the library earlier that day. He'd made an effort to put back each disappointing tome as well, only causing further stress and annoyance. His patience was wearing thin.[break][break]
Flicking through the pages of this newest tome also lead only to disappointment - inside was no mention of the arcane artifact he was looking for. Made roughly a century ago, the artifact was unique and beautiful - a gift to some foreign sovereign entity that had captured the creator's heart. She, of course, was wed to another, and it was his token of love that could remain with her where he couldn't. As a plus, once it absorbed a drop of blood, it magically purified the air of anything that might shut down internal organs or otherwise harm the wearer's body. Messmer wanted it, half because he coveted the beautiful jewelry he'd seen in paintings of grand homes in Dvos'kajib and half because he thought it would make a grand gift to his companion.[break][break]
Messmer had escaped them (read: abandoned) because he didn't want to let them know what he was doing.. and also somewhat because he knew they'd disapprove of spending who knew how long looking for some unnecessary magical artifact - many races were able to do something to that effect themselves, and many magics were known of now that could be applied. For Messmer, it wasn't about what it did as much as how much he wanted it.[break][break]
And he really wanted it.[break][break]
He took the book, content to read it for a while at the very least, and roamed down the isles - stopping as his eyes landed on a seated individual at a table covered in organized clutter. The corners of his red eyes crinkled slightly as he moved close and started at the shiny blue orb sitting neatly in a box on the table. There was no mistaking that it was a luxury artifact of some kind, beautiful in nature and just daring Messmer to reach out and touch it. He was certain he couldn't just take something under someone's watchful - and actually very intense - gaze however, so he clutched at his purple tome as the man before him grumbled.[break][break]
Demanding! Unfriendly. Something like that. Messmer could tell the other male was much taller than he was, even as he sat rigidly at the table, and it wasn't hard to guess that he was a bit more.. curt of personality than the Djinn. Messmer chose to ignore his tone, one brow arching as his lips spread into a wide grin.[break][break]
"You look familiar with the library. I was hoping to find someone who knew a little more about Bedivere Astreaus than I, and you just so happen to be the first person I've encountered." Messmer's tone was more than friendly, and silken in how nonplussed he felt about Sae's annoyance. Without pause, Messmer continued speaking. "I couldn't help but notice this beautiful orb you have." 'May I have it?' flit through his mind, which resulted in something more like a pause before he asked "Fascinating. Magical, I assume. Does it have a use, or is it purely for looks?" There was a hint of amusement in his tone, as if he suspected it couldn't possibly be just a fancy bit of blue glass but found the question itself amusing.[break][break]
Messmer wasn't so interested in it that he would make a point of trying to obtain it for himself.. but it did interest him a little more than what he had been half-heartedly obsessed with moments before.

I just want to rule the world
The man kept his eyes trained on the fellow before him as he listened to him speak, a soft, irritable huff escaping him after he had finished speaking. He spoke too much in his opinion. He raised a hand, all the while keeping his eyes trained on the being before him, and moved it over to the relic he had on his table before he closed the lid. "It is a shame there is no other person here." He mentioned, pausing as he pulled his hand away from the closed box. "What I research is of no concern to you. As for your prior question I would not know how to answer that as I am unsure what you are trying to discover. There are plenty of information for specific reasons."
He paused in his speech to observe how the other would react to his words, though he also couldn't even help the man find whatever it was that he needed to find without much knowledge either. Then again the sooner he got him out of his way the better. Just where were those people who resided in the library to help people? Shouldn't they have been the ones he went to first? Or perhaps he was just too daft to really take notice of the atmosphere and the lack of people in his chosen area of the library. Then again, Sae'irin usually figured lesser people were...dumber. Except for his beautiful Mate of course, then again the woman could easily get him to tuck his tail between his leg from time to time but that was a given for what they were to one another naturally.
